Before I met my trainer, Melanie, I was one of those people who would go through fitness phases. I would work out for a couple of months and then quit for a month. The only goal I had was to jump and not jiggle. I wasn't very sure about what I was doing and never really did lose much weight. When I signed up for Lifestyle Family Fitness, I actually wasn't very interested in a personal trainer but took the free sessions. I was very surprised with those sessions.
Melanie not only made working out fun, but she also pushed me to the limit. She's one of the most sincerely enthusiastic and happy people that I know. I ended up signing up for more training sessions and it's been one of the best investments I've ever made. I started losing about a pound a week and that goes far after even just a couple of months. After five months of training, not only do I feel healthier, stronger, and less jiggly (Yippeeee), but I also learned from her example the difference a positive attitude can make and have been so much happier for it. I have never been able to get the results that I've been getting by training on my own.

When I joined a gym in May 2007, after a couple years of running and lifting on my own, I started with lots of cardio and got some good initial results. After a while, though, I knew I was on a fitness plateau and didn’t know how to move forward. I was putting in more and more effort but getting fewer benefits. When I started working with Melanie, I felt right away that she concentrated on my particular strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Our strength-building work is challenging, but Melanie always keeps it fun. Melanie has also introduced me to some new approaches, like Tabata and boxing, which will keep me interested for a long time to come.
I was never a very physical person and always avoided heavy exertion. Now I look forward to it. I learned quickly that I can work harder than I ever thought I could. My husband has noticed how much more energy I have, and the color in my (usually very pale) cheeks. I have lost weight and gained muscle, and I am fitter, stronger and more coordinated than I have ever been. At 40, that is an exciting thing to be able to say. Thanks, Mel!

Working out with Mel has really changed my life. I now have goals which I would never (even at my thinnest) thought possible...like running!
I want to be a runner by this spring and with Melanie, I truly believe I can do it. She has inspired me to be a healthier person for myself and for my future. I began working out with Melanie over a year ago and then quit, thinking I could do it on my own.
I soon realized that I was someone who needed that extra push that only a personal trainer can give. Since I returned, I have found myself more motivated than ever and continue to reach new goals every month. She has really given me the confidence in myself that I knew was always hiding under the doubt within my extra pounds.

I had a very simple goal in mind, lose weight! I also had been working out on my own and was getting frustrated with no results! I enlisted the help of my Personal Trainer, Melanie Dana.
That's all it took! I was able to focus on workouts that were designed specifically for me and my needs. I started seeing results very quickly and would not have been able to achieve the amount of body fat and weight lost without her. I have also put on a great deal of muscle. Just an added bonus!!!
She taught me how to eat better, workout harder and push myself past exhaustion. Mel is the real deal. Be prepared to get results in no time if you just follow the advice given!! Thanks Mel!

Last year I was going through a break up with my long time girl friend and was a little down about my weight. I had gained a lot since being in the IT industry and dating the same girl for a long time. I started training with Mel and I've lost weight steadily.
I've lost over 30lbs and feel much better physically. Just getting around, riding my motorcycle and my general demeanor through out the day is better. Going to Mel helps me stay on track as I am horrible at going to the gym whenever other parts of my life start to overwhelm me.

The first day of Tabata, I wondered WHAT AM I DOING- I AM 56 !! Five weeks later I knew that it was what I needed. I learned that I could push myself well beyond my comfort zone and feel good later. I have a marked improvement in physical as well as emotional endurance!

When Mel first told me about Tabata I was very excited from the word go, however that excitement stemmed from the fact that I had no clue what it meant.
I missed the first week of class b/c I was traveling for work so when I came in during the 2nd week I had some making it up to do. It was hard at first b/c my body wasn't used to working out at such a fast pace, but once i got into a rhythm I started to feel very good.
These classes are no joke. If you stick with it you will leave there feeling stronger, healthier and overall better about yourself and what you've accomplished. I would recommend these classes to anyone.
Mel is a great trainer and she'll keep you going with her energy.
