I chose a provocative name to represent my way of personal training. I think of myself as a unique, outside of the box type of person. I’ve been training professionally for several years now and anyone who knows me can tell you that I mean business when it comes to fitness training. I am a results oriented certified trainer with big picture expectations. I will push you past your physical limitations and in turn make you stronger, faster, and better than ever before.
It's so much more than just losing weight!
Last July 2008 I was eating a lot of unhealthy food and just gaining more and more weight and not working out at all. Then I met Melanie Dana who is now my personal trainer. I went to her thinking I was going to get healthy and loose weight, but I have become so much more than that today.
At first, Mel’s Tabata classes were grueling. But that was just the beginning of the torture. Then, I was seeing her 2 hours a week, which was worse. She had my body doing things it never has done before. I could barely do a "push-up" and lunges were the enemy, but pull ups are hell. I’m not sure why I kept going back for Mel’s torture. May be it was because she is so motivating, strong and personable? Or maybe, because she helped me out so much beyond just working out.
I started to go to her Skinny bitch meetings every month that helped me out with the foods I was eating. I learned about what’s good for my body and what is not. Then I changed the way that I thought about my self because of the affirmations she made me do. I would have to look in the mirror and tell my self that "I love my self" and "I can do this"! It sounds silly but it really works. Then as my body was changing through Mel’s torture. I found that I can do a lot of these things. I can do 50 push – ups, 100 lunges and I can even run, which by the way is very huge for me…. When I first started with Mel I could not even run 50 feet with out wheezing so hard I thought I was going to puke. But now, I can run more than 3 miles.
I stared out with Melanie at 216 pounds. Now May 2009 I weigh 175. I still have some more weight to loose, but now with the Help of my personal trainer "MEL"!!!. I know I can do anything, and that anything is possible. It’s not all about loosing the weight. I have gained a friend for life as well!
When I met Melanie I knew that she would be the one to push me to meet my goals. She is very tough and structured, but find that I keep going back for more, mainly because of the results.
I have lost 25 pounds in 6 months, by attending Skinny Bitch meetings and working out regularly with Melanie. Melanie is not only a hard working Personal trainer but she is one of the nicest people I know.
She likes to try new things and is always open and honest, and tells it like it is. Then there is the PT side… she will push you until you get results.

One time I had gained a pound or two and she really worked us out hard that day, she wanted to show us that you need to exercise to see results. She weighed us in before our training session and then she put us to work.
I was almost on my knees about to cry when she pushed us even harder than usual. Then she weighed us again after training. The scale was down from when we weighed in before our session. She looked at each of us and said "that’s how you lose weight!"
She was not mad at us she just wanted to show us that we need to work hard to get results and we did.
You Rock Mel!!

I decided to become a trainer after going through a rigorous training program myself with one of the best trainers in the business. He taught me that anything I envisioned could be achieved. The feeling of breaking my own self made barriers was overwhelming and self gratifying!
I wanted to give this gift of fitness to others who have similar mentalities. I started studying to become a personal fitness coach and soon started working with like minded individuals. It’s so amazing to see someone become more and more confident as they become comfortable in their own skin. Head held high, shoulders back, taking the world on one day at a time.
My training programs are only for those people serious about achieving real results and putting in the necessary effort to attain them. Skinny Bitch training is not for everyone. The number of repetitions, types of cardio, and sheer intensity of the workouts may be too challenging for many. With these workouts, you will succeed by failing!! Remember to keep trying!! As you continue to perform these workouts, you will become stronger and able to reach the goals we set forth for your progress.
Whether you want to lose weight, decrease body composition, increase strength, size or endurance, these workouts will get you in the best shape of your life!
I started training with Melanie in August 2008. I had been working out at home for several years but I only exercised when I felt like it. I wanted to be active but it was difficult to motivate myself. I also had a hard time monitoring my progress because I made up my routines from exercises I found in books and online. I always wondered if I was doing them correctly and I often injured myself.
What I like most about training with Mel is that I don’t have to think! She knows my fitness level, she makes sure my form is correct and she keeps my workouts interesting and challenging. She’s committed to helping me reach my fitness goals and pushes me harder than I would ever push myself. All I have to do is show up at the gym and work as hard as I can.
Over the past ten months I have improved in every fitness area: I’ve put on muscle, reduced my body fat, increased my strength, increased my endurance and increased my flexibility. Last week I ran the Little Miami Triathlon, which I never would have been able to do just one year ago. Melanie trained me well because our gym workouts were so much harder than the triathlon itself!
The characteristics of Skinny Bitch Training are shaped by the requirements of your goals. Individuals who want to train will participate in assessments to determine starting fitness levels. Everyone is different and therefore needs a specialized fitness routine. Dependable, self-reliant individuals are ideal candidates for my brand of personal training.
